Athletes with Gryphon Ties Bring Home 15 Medals from Jr. & Sr. T&F ChampionshipsPublished by
Edmonton, AB - Athletes with University of Guelph ties brought home 15 medals at this weekend's Canadian Junior and Senior Track and Field Championships held in Edmonton, Alberta. Leading the way were Gryphon Alumni Genevieve Lalonde and Alex Genest who both won silver medals in the women's and men's steeplechase respectively, securing themselves spots on the team for this summer's World Championships in Beijing, China. Gryphon Assistant Coach Taylor Milne, who won bronze in the men's steeplechase, will join them in Beijing in a coaching role. Other alumni to bring home medals were Julia Wallace, winning the women's triple jump, Jason Dunkerly, gold in the Para 5000 metres and Tim Hendry, silver in the men's shot put.
