T&F: Seven Gryphons Named To Track and Field "Quest For Gold" ListPublished by
Guelph, Ont. - Seven University of Guelph Track and Field Athletes have been nominated to receive Ontario Quest For Gold funding, the highest total of an university track and field program in the province. The seven athletes represent some of the biggest stars in CIS sport led by CIS Cross Country MVPs Ross Proudfoot and Carise Thompson. Fellow All-Canadians Tristan Woodfine, Aaron Hendrikx, Katelyn Ayers and Heather Petrick were also named to the list as was Gryphons' captain Chris Dulhanty. Gryphon Assistant Coach Taylor Milne, a 2008 Olympian, will also receive Quest for Gold funding this year. The Quest For Gold program began in 2006, the lottery funding is supported by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. The funding is designed to support Ontario based elite athletes.
